So, this is my first foray into syncing custom lighting cues to music. As you can see, the lights do not actually "match" the beat exactly, but that is partially because the lighting cues are drawn on an 8th note grid, while the drum loop is actually prerecorded with a bit of swing added in the timing. Thus, it does not line up exactly. However, in future applications (or with additional effort), I can force a groove quantize on my lighting cues and they will be on the money with the beat. Massive Attack better watch their back... just kidding, of course. Check out their lighting wizardry:

Last night I managed to get the majority of my essential audio equipment reinstalled in my room. I am excited about how it's coming together because I am now able to run any input on my mixer through any of my stompboxes. Drums through a Z.Vex Wooly Mammoth? Vocals through an RE-20 Space Echo? I think so.... hold on just a second... Wow, I just looked out the window(glorious day out there), my eyes did that "white burn" thing where it looks like you're going snowblind for a few seconds and then I got incredibly tired. I need a nap... seriously.

These guys are crazy/cool. If you are a musician or computer nerd in Albuquerque, you owe it to yourself to go see their place. Thanks for all the help, fellas!

Ahh, the weekend. My apologies for the lack of updates - I've been busy. 14 hour work days and 6 day work weeks have been taking their toll lately. However, I have been busy outside of work as well. Since I last posted, I have gotten my hands on:
- an ENTTEC DMXis,
- a Boss VE-20,
- a Ruin & Wesen MiniCommand,
- some Chauvet DiamondStrip Minis (4),
- a Reamp V2,
- a Boss AC-3,
- a Line6 FBV Express MKII,
- a Metal Working Kit,
- a Dremel 4000, and
- some fake yak fur.
As with most of my projects/dreams, I cannot tell you exactly when my plans for these acquisitions will come to fruition. However, I can tell you that it will be worth the wait...

"I've lost track of the number of times I've gone on writing weekends or holidays and done nothing, only to find myself facing a really busy time but unable to sleep because I've got so many ideas in my head. That's the perverse nature of creativity..."
